Terms for Contributions

  • CONTRIBUTORS: Contributions from foreign nationals are prohibited by law. Contributors must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.
  • CORPORATE CONTRIBUTIONS: The campaign finance law generally prohibits corporate political contributions. This restriction does not apply to contributions from professional corporations. Partnerships that include one or more corporate partners are subject to the prohibition.
  • LIMITS: There is a $5,000 limit on contributions by individuals (unmarried minor children are considered in the total for the individual).
  • REPORTING: State law requires that we collect and report contributor's: name, address, occupation and employer. If contributor's spouse works at a law firm, we must collect and report the name of the law firm as well. Similarly, if contributor is an unmarried minor child, we must ask if either parent works at a law firm and report the name of the law firm.
  • TAX DEDUCTIONS: Contributions are not deductible as charitable donations for federal income tax purposes. Please consult your tax professional for further questions.
