Protect Ohio Workers and Families LLC (“POWF”) is an Ohio nonprofit limited liability company that is exempt from federal taxation under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. POWF is registered with the Ohio Secretary of State as a ballot issue political action committee. It may receive unlimited contributions from any source, including individuals, corporations, limited liability companies, trade associations, political organizations, and other legal entities, but does not accept contributions from foreign nationals, including individuals who are not citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States as well as entities that are organized under the laws of a foreign country or whose principal place of business is in a foreign country. POWF is legally required to publicly disclose detailed information about all contributions, including the contributor’s name and street address (as well as employer and occupation if aggregating $100 or more). Contributions by one person in the name of another are prohibited. The IRS does not allow contributions to POWF to be deducted as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes.
